Harold's Adventures

Harold lost his balance and fell into something that was warm and furry.  When the boy tried to get up on his feet, he suddenly felt a gust of wind and saw in the shadows what appeared to be a very large hand headed right in his direction.  It was at this precise moment Harold realized he had made a terrible mistake, for there was no storm approaching. 

Instead, Harold had come upon a snoring giant whose nasal grumblings had sounded off like booming claps of thunder.  Harold jumped out of the way before the restless sleeper’s shifting body squashed him like a bug.

          The young King had only heard of giants existing in these lands but he had never seen one before.  Harold had also heard that giants have hearty appetites for humans and so he started to run.  However, the boy’s legs could not carry him fast enough.  The giant was now awake and he picked Harold up raising him high into the air.  The boy swung his legs violently in an attempt to free himself but his efforts were useless.

Harold realized that the giant was not going to release him and so he drew his sword.  The giant looked at Harold curiously. 

“You awaken the great Ari and draw your sword?  You are lucky I don’t use it as a toothpick to scrape your bones from my teeth, lad,” he said with a chuckle.
