Invasion

     Back in the control room, everyone goes on with business as usual until the silence is broken by an urgent call from the radio room.

"Conn radio! We just received a message from the helo saying that they've located an enemy contact at longitude one eight zero degrees ten minutes, and latitude fifthteen degrees five minutes sir!"

"Radio conn," said Pat, "contact the helo and verify the coordinates and tell them we're on our way!"

 "Aye captain!" came the reply.

Pat then looks at Douglas and speaks.

"Mr. Moffatt, make my course and speed one two zero degrees, all ahead flank!"

"Aye captain," said Douglas, "course, one two zero degrees, all ahead flank," he said to the officer of the deck.

     The officer of the deck repeats the order to the helmsman, who then repeats the order while he carries out the command. All everyone can do now is wait until sonar picks up the contact on their screen. About ten minutes later, the sonar operator picks up the contact.

"Conn sonar!" said the sonar operator, "enemy contact bearing one eight zero degrees, speed, standard sir!"

 "Weapons conn," said Pat,"load tubes one, two, and three!"

"Conn weapons, aye captain."

 "Mr. Moffatt," said Pat "plot a course to intercept the enemy contact using the End Run Ambush maneuver!"

    The command is again relayed to the helmsman who adjusts the submarine to intercept the enemy contact.
