About the Book
For anyone who has been in good health all their life, to be told that they now have a debilitating illness like Multiple Sclerosis can be devastating, as is the acceptance of such an illness.
I have tried to write about my own problems and experiences in a way that gives a practical guide to managing the illness. Topics include being diagnosed, employment, pregnancy, relationships, medical treatment and complimentary therapies.
I hope that my book shows that staying positive is an important factor in dealing with your MS. My book will answer the question for a person who as newly been diagnosed and also for fellow MS sufferers.
About the Author
As my family were now grown up I decided at the age of 45 to return to education. I did this by College and then University where I obtained a degree in Psychology in 2000.
This led me into the banking sector where I hoped I could make a career for myself before retirement. Unfortunately in September 2001 I was diagnosed with MS. Just over a year later it became impossible for me to work.
I have attended various MS classes like Physiotherapy and Fatigue Management which gave me an insight as to the future ahead . As it was important for me to understand my illness I began reading books and searching the internet. I started to write for my own benefit but before long I was writing my book.
With a lot of encouragement from professionals and my family I hope my book will help others in a similar position to remain positive and believe that they can look towards the future.
