These are a collection of very short stories; each one exactly 55 words in length.
They express my outlook on life, life in general and a variety of other thoughts that enter my mind for no apparent reason.
I hope a few of them put a smile on your face and one or two more give you pause to ponder; if such is accomplished, I’ll be happy for both of us.

THE ENEMY WITHIN
No matter how hard you trained, what your level of preparation, it was always a battle; a tough brutal fight.
He knew every strategy and could hit you with punches you never saw coming.
Pound for pound, he was one of the toughest contenders that would ever enter the ring of your mind, self doubt.
THE SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY
He started with nothing.
Now he had 7 locations,
netted $6500 a week.
Recession fears mounted.
Being proactive, he
eliminated his weakest
location and cut advertising
expenditures.
Months passed, headlines
grew grim, bad times
were predicted. He closed
four more locations, eliminated
all promotional efforts.

I was born in a relatively small Central California Coastal town. Self employed since the age of 23 in a variety of endeavors service stations, Nightclubs, building houses trading commodities; as a normal progression I thought it was time to try my hand at writing.
