About the Book

     Kyran's Secret  is the story of a tall, large, unattractive young lady who seeks love and attention outside the family.   Kyran Dolls, the heroine of the novel, finds herself in love with a young man who will not stop at anything to get what he wants, not even orchestrated murder!   He takes Kyran on a trip that no young lady should have to experience; his main goal is to manipulate her into giving him the monetary resources he needs to sustain his habit.   When the light-bulb comes on, and Kyran realizes what has happened to her, she does the unmentionable to him.   What does she do?   How does she handle the situation?  What ultimately happens to her?   Read on....


About the Author

Terry Smith, author of Kyran’s Secret, was born in Willisville, Arkansas, the fifth child of Ms. Cassie L. Blake and the late Mr. B. Smith. He is a graduate of the now defunct Oak Grove High School of Rosston, Arkansas. After high school, he matriculated at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English with Magna Cum Laude honors. He continued his educational quest at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he received the Master’s of Arts degree in English. He has done additional studies at Southern Arkansas University of Magnolia, Arkansas, and Ouachita Baptist University at Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Terry has amassed a long list of honors as a teacher of English in the Pine Bluff Schools, among which are Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year, Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Outstanding Educator’s Award, etc.

Terry is the father of one child, Shadayja, who is ten years old and a student at St. Peter’s Catholic School of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He is one of seven children: Pauline Smith-Martin, who passed; Darlene, Vearlene, Alfredia, Jerry, and Charles.

The author teaches tenth-grade honors and regular English at Pine Bluff High School, and he has worked as an adjunct at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for a number of years as an instructor of freshman courses in English.

Terry has written hundreds of poems, short stories, and formal speeches. According to the author, writing for him is a gift from God. He spends much time writing and reading. He has two other novels, Snow in the Dark and Sixteen and Pregnant: the Story of A Girl Who Grew Up Too Quickly, that he wishes to complete and publish before the end of 2008.   My favorite phrase is "To God be the Glory!"
