Nathaniel was about to explode! Word had gotten out about the person who not only was unaccounted for, but also was eluding all attempts to locate him. What a nightmare, and this from someone, who had never had a nightmare, let alone slept! His eyes roamed across the room taking in all the personnel and what they seemed to be doing, which wasn’t much! One of his eyes had developed a small nervous tick. He was tired and rumpled and short of temper. "Where is Melvin?" he bellowed. "Why can I never find this guy, is he hiding from me?" He rubbed his eyes with his hands and noticed that he was sweating. This was a dark business. His mind was beginning to develop the idea that there was more to this event than just a missing American! There seemed to be sinister overtones to the whole matter. He wondered if he shouldn’t have already notified the Unseen Ones, the highest-ranking council of angels in charge of managing the entire heavenly complex. Melvin cowered in another room but knew that there was no escape. Slowly he moved into the room and said, "Over here sir." "Well Melvin, what sayest thou?" Great Scot, Melvin thought, He's gone all the way back to Shakespeare! Well, I am not going to be intimidated any longer. Nathaniel may be a Captain but I don't deserve to be blamed for this thing. "Sir," Melvin spoke up, "we know who the man is and when he arrived. From his records he doesn’t seem to have been much of a believer. There is nothing noteworthy in the file. Pretty much a dead beat!" "That is no concern of yours!" The Captain roared. "Just find him and get him back into the system. Do you know that headquarters already is aware of your mistake?" "My mistake? What do you mean my mistake? The guy never made it into my office, how can this possibly be considered my fault?" Melvin's eyes were as big as cafeteria saucers, he was sweating and his nose was running. He had the sinking feeling that he was going to be made the scapegoat of this mess. His dreams of military glory were quickly disappearing. Now, he just hoped that he could keep this job that he had been trying to get away from for years. All of this suffering because of some guy named "Ernest" for heaven sake!

Rebellion in Heaven? That great deceiver, Lucifer, is at it again! Placing agents in a garden area just outside of Heaven, Satan targets newly arriving Christians who have little faith. These demons attempt to enlist these impressionable souls to join Satan's forces. Demonic intrigue takes place in the garden and on earth, where angels confront the devil's forces.
One weak arrival at the Heavenly gate is Ernest G. Plover, who dreads meeting Jesus because he did not live for Him while on earth. When he arrives in the garden, Ernest avoids the gates of heaven, preferring, instead, to withdraw from the crowd and disappear for awhile. This causes the angels responsible for all Heavenly admissions to have an angelic meltdown as they try to find out what happened to this missing soul. Jesus himself chooses to seek out the fearful Ernest.
A great battle between Lucifer's demons and God's warrior angels takes place that threatens the very foundation of Heaven.
Through this story you will experience adventure, intrigue, humor and a few tears. Imagination is required as we explore what Heaven may be like. We will marvel at Heaven's organization, peek into God's throne room, and witness the encounter between angels and evil demons.

About the Author
Lyle began life's journey in Spokane, Washington. During his life he has been a dairy farmer, Deputy Sheriff, and Christian worker. His career ended as President of Carillon Retirement center in Lubbock, Texas, where he was President for twenty-two years. He earned a Bachelor of Theology degree from Trinity College of the Bible. He now pursues his new joy, writing novels for Christians of all ages.
His newest novel, "A Quart of Wheat for a Day's Wages" is a mystery thriller about a new nation trying to destroy the United States by clever economic policies that could spell the end of America! This novel is now nearing publication.
