While the earth continues to be pulled apart, by the demands of humanity mars is being pulled together by that very same humanity. Perhaps all mankind really needs is a challenge for which to strive, least we weaken and die. If that is so, then mars could be more than just a new world on which to live, it may very well be a new place for us all to begin.
I like the people in this book grew up dreaming, of man going to mars by the year 2000. After watching the Apollo missions, and men walking on the moon, I thought anything was possible. Of course I found out later, after seeing many robotic probes land on mars such as the two Viking Landers, that I was right, but the will to do the seemingly impossible and send men to mars is another story.
I hope this book will somehow inspire us, to go ahead and get out there, to the planets and make our mark in the solar system. And if we find that we are not alone out there, then at least we will finally know. If knowing helps us to get over the hang-ups of facing the unknowns in space, then knowing the truth is half of our battle, for truly our real future lies out there, in the universe.

About the Book
In the year 2015 the U.S. Space Force was established. By 2020 they had built a base on the moon. In 2025 the U.S. landed on the planet Mars and staked out claims, other countries from Earth soon followed. Then the oil companies came and struck oil, and the discovery of gold was next, soon everyone was trying to get there, it was like the california gold rush all over again, only this time it is on Mars! Then the scientists and colonists came to try and turn this barren world into a place to live for humanity, but could it be done? By 2075 it was being done, and one family was determined to do their part to make it happen when they came to this red planet with high hopes and, their big dreams.
About the Author
I have loved science fiction, every since I was four years old, and saw the movie, The Day The Earth Stood Still, on telivision. Later of course I discovered Star Trek, and other space oriented sience fiction shows. I'd never really thought of writing one myself, untill my wife passed away, November 16th 2006. So as the grief of her loss gripped me, I decided to do this one last thing for her, and write her as a character, into a book, because she loved books so much. Well it had to be science fiction of course. because that's what I know best. Along the way I found that I enjoy writing, so I'm currently working on another book Mars Gold Two, and I hope to see part one become a movie some day, hope you enjoy Mars Gold!
