About the Book

"The Times That Rhyme" was written to entertain and encourage at different levels. You will enjoy reading the poetry itself and below some poems the inspirational thought is discussed. This work shares the times that I felt love, hardship, motivation, encouragement, fun and mystery. I have put them in alphabetical order so it's easy to go from the table of contents to the poem.

Look Through My Eyes

If you see through only your eyes,

And field no other thought.

Then life may be a series of lies,

No matter what you’ve been taught.

About the Author

During my younger years, I was in awe of the natural beauty provided by living in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. It melded the sense that nature is king with the idea that all is well on planet earth. At nine my parents divorced and I was cast into a dark cloud of mystery. At seventeen I left home and attempted my first shot at college by attending Oregon State University. The following year I was hammered with nurse's aide work at Wildwood Medical Missionary Institute. This taught me about the benefits of massage as well as the fragile nature of life. I started a roofing company in Georgia when I was nineteen. In 1973 I married and later ran my own paving business for two years in Florida. I had a calling for medicine and enlisted in the military in 1976. After four years as a medical laboratory technician I became a Physician Assistant and was commissioned an officer. While in the military Patty and I had three children. In 1996 I chose to retire from the military due to worsening mental illness. I became completely disabled and could no longer work or attend to the family needs. It has been a difficult road since. After three years of study in 2004, I received my Administrative Assistant Certificate from Lake Region State College in North Dakota. After attending college, I began writing my autobiography "Will He Survive" which I published in 2006. I, also, published another poetry book called "A Note To Quote" in 2006 and "The Island of Kunata" in 2010.
