About the Book
'The Real Mary' explores the Mary of the Bible and compares her with the Mary of the Roman Catholic Church in language anyone can read and understand. 'The Real Mary' brings to light the many Marian doctrines of Catholicism and compares them to the infallible Word of God in the Bible. Such topics as Marian apparitions, Mary as Mother of God and queen of Heaven, Mary as ever-virgin, and the doctrines of the Immaculate Conception and Assumption are discussed and compared to the Biblical Mary of Nazareth, mother of Jesus.
About the Author
Formerly a contemporary romance fiction writer, when Lynette turned her life over to Jesus as Savior, she also turned her writing over to God. 'The Real Mary' is the first work done to honor God. The goal of this work is to reach out to Catholics and bring clarity and truth to a topic normally surrounded by hyperbole and mystical fasinaction - Mary.
As a former Roman Catholic, Lynette spent over forty years learning and then questioning her religion and its doctrines. When studying the greatest words ever written - the Bible - she realized her love of the written word and her desire to write needed to be used for God's glory and purpose. This book, 'The Real Mary' is, God willing, only the first of many that will help lift the shroud of religion from people's eyes and bring them to a greater personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Lynette is currently working on a contemporary Christian fiction novel she hopes is exciting, romantic and relevant to today's discriminating Christian reader.
