Adele was born, Adele Seeman
In 1939, she was introduced to Peter Fergal, who was to become her husband. They married in the same year and were able to enjoy each others company for nearly 30 years. Adele, now in her late fifties, lost Peter to a heart attack. She was now alone except for relatives, for she and Peter never had children.
Adele continued to teach school after Peters passing until she retired in her late sixties. After her retirement, she spent much of her time reading. In addition, she would often visit nursing homes in the area and read to the patients. It was through these cumulative visits that Adele had become adamant she would never want to spend one day in a nursing home.
Finally, when Adele was in her early to mid 80’s, she moved from her private home to an independent living facility for seniors. She continued her reading and began to spend more time alone. As she approached here late 80’s, she began to realize her mental capacity was diminishing.
