About the Book

Too often people are moved into a management role without the aid of a mentor as well as little or no personal experience. This text allows them to reference some personal history as well as a bold look at the challenges that they will be facing as they mature in their new found profession. It has been prepared with a wry sense of humor and with the intention of giving the reader an elevated level of expectation as to what they will be exposed to as a manager.

About the Author

Ray Labadie is a forty-year member of Information Technology (IT). He has been fortunate enough to have occupied every job role in IT from operator to database developer to V.P. of Technology and on to international strategic planner. He has worked for Fortune 500 companies as well as some of the smallest Dot Com organizations. His travel has taken him through North America and a frequent flyer to France, Germany and England. He taught Cobol and Assembler programming as well as Computer Operations for seven years at a local college. Although this is his first book, he has given several presentations to colleges in Canada and the United States. Mr. Labadie's strength has been in turning around portions or all of IT organizations. He has done it through his management style and his drive to provide his team with the best example of customer service. His thirty years of management experience are presented in this text with a sense of humor that reflects his style and his love of an opportunity to prove himself. His goal is to inject management exposure into his readers.
