Patches of dirty, wet snow remained in shaded swales along the narrow trail. Ahmed Atta, blindfolded and lead by a short tether cinched to his waist, stumbled and careened off the rocky path. Arms flailing for balance, he plunged through one of the slushy depressions, soaking his tattered shoes.
Wind whipped the bare face of the mountain, chilling the band of five men in spite of the incessant sun and the exertion of climbing at a rapid pace. At ten thousand feet of elevation, high above the tree line, the paucity of oxygen caused even the hardy and seasoned fighters in the party of marchers to suck hard for breath. Ahmed, third in line and unaccustomed to the altitude, panted and reeled from exhaustion.
How far is it to bin Laden's cave?" Ahmed Atta asked between gasps of breath.
"We have another impatient one, anxious to be Allah's next hero," the man behind Ahmed laughed. "It's only another ten miles to the cave. Then you can rest."
"No obstacle is too great in the service of Allah," Ahmed managed. "But can't we stop for just a moment? My shoes are wet and my feet are getting frozen."

Intercepted e-mails alert Homeland Security to the possibility of a terrorist attack on South Florida staged from a Bahamian island. Rhonda and Morgan Early are again recruited by the Drug Enforcement Administration to monitor suspicious activity on Bimini, located just fifty miles from Miami.
Ahmed Atta needs money to implement his plan to kill sixty-five thousand Americans. He busts convicted cartel leader Victor Torres from jail for one million dollars.
When Rhonda and Morgan learn of suspicious activity on Bimini, they rush to the island to thwart any potential danger.
Torres inadvertently assists the terrorists by attempting to avenge his earlier capture by Morgan and Rhonda. He snatches their son and lures them to his trafficking headquarters on Plana Cay with the intent to brutally murder them.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Atta's brilliant plan to kill an unfathomable number of Americans proceeds unabated.

Hank Manley has traveled the Bahamas by boat for over thirty years. He has written two non-fiction books on fishing, A Grand Quest and Beyond the Green Water. He also wrote the action/adventure trilogy Bahama Snow, Bahama Payback and Bahama Reckoning as well as the thriller Coral Cemetery. He lives with his wife, Gretchen, in North Palm Beach, Florida.
