“Just to Be with You”
I compromised my rest just to speak with you
Put all my friends on hold just to be with you
I gave my all, my 100 percent
All the time that we used to spend
I gave up everything just to be with you.
Compromised my judgment just to be with you
All my morals went out the window
Started doing things that I’d never done before
Started having dreams that I never had before
Dreams that would make me wanna up and leave you
But I stuck around for a while just to be with you
Jeopardized my mentality just to be with you
Mind’s on the line just because of you
Almost had a breakdown all because of you
Almost lost my mind all over you
Contemplated suicide all because of you
I endured all this torment just to be with you
Burned a lot of bridges, just to be with you
No more family visits, just to be with you
I sacrificed our marriage just to be with you.
I know I left you
I never meant to hurt you or cause you no pain
I had to leave, or I would’ve gone insane
I left to try to save our marriage
Fasted, prayed, and even had shut-ins
But you had me feeling like an Egyptian in
bondage
Can’t do this, can’t wear that
Can’t speak to this one or that
I couldn’t interject when your boy would disrespect
Trying to keep his woman in check
So you thought that you could also disrespect
Never took the time to see the neglect.
All the time we spent with others
We never really got the chance to explore being newlywed lovers
Yeah, we had our wee hours in the mornings
But I was just longing and yearning
For that day to come
For us to just be one on one
All this I put up with and endured
Just to be with you
And the funny part is that
Even though you filed for divorce
I can’t see myself without you
Nor you without me
When we said I do
To me, that was supposed to be forever you & me
I said I do, just to be with you
But who knew
That one day you’d be saying “I don’t”
What would happen if Christ did the same?
Told you He don’t
Would you still maintain?
After all, He did suffer pain
With the thorns sticking His brain
And nails through His veins
Christ loved, suffered, died, and lived true
Just to be with you.

About the Book
Blinded is about relational experiences in which a few people have encountered along their journey to finding true love and happiness. This book definitely increases the awareness of danger zones within relationships. It also inspires others to be courageous, strong, and confident. It will make you laugh, smile, and cry.
Blindedwill have you on the edge of your seat as it expounds on mental, verbal, and physical abuse.
Blinded goes into detail about what happened in several relationships, what went wrong, and gives warning signs or red flags to watch out for.
7 Warning Signs:
- Your partner becomes distant
- Your partner becomes too busy for you
- He/she starts making excuses
- Promises are made and broken
- He/she speaks negatively about the other
- Decisions are made without effective communication
- One tries to control or isolate the other
About the Author
Kiseler R. Brumfield is an emerging author who was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.
While in high school, Kiseler developed a love for reading and essay writing. She took a creative writing course in high school, which she truly believes is the start of her passionate writing career.
After high school, Kiseler attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 1997-1998 and later attended Baton Rouge Community College from 2004-2005. Some of her college coursework would include: Composition & Literature, Short Stories & Novels, as well as a few Psychology courses, which was her initial major of choice. However, during the process of Kiseler finding her niche, she experienced a few heartbreaks and disappointments, which ultimately inspired her to write and publish her first novel, Blinded.
Kiseler is also the Co-Author of a children’s book entitled Tyler’s Third Grade Science Project by Sonia M. Johnson. Some of her other works would include: Editor of Nonfiction book entitled Blessed: Therapy by Jennifer C.D. Wilford, Editor of another children’s book by Sonia M. Johnson entitled Miyah and the Storm, and Volunteer Editor-In-Chief of a previous online publication called The Chadda Box Newsletter.
Kiseler currently has three Fiction works in progress: A Mystery in Mexico (mystery novel), #4707 (thrilling novel), Take a Bite! (Urban anthology of erotic fiction).
In the Summer of 2010, Kiseler has also started a mentoring group to encourage, educate, and inspire others with a mission of building a better understanding within African-American relationships by opening the lines of communication and to ultimately decrease statistical data. Her vision is to restore strength, love, and unity within the African-American community.
