About the Book

This book is a collection of poems that I've written through the years that reflect a part of me in earnest. The lecturer, the crusader, the romanticist, all are who I am with pen in hand. Love gained and love lost is something almost everyone can relate to. The book also is glazed throughout with spirituality so as the reader will know that God will not be omitted and only through Him are all things possible.

My motivation for writing this book continues to be the fact that I love to write. The written word as well as those spoken are the most powerful tools known to man. Almost every action and reaction between humans starts and ends with dialog. Words are our supreme and simpliest form of communication. Words when used in a proper and courteous manner can bring the user great respect and admiration. But when words are used in anger with negative connotations they may bring scorn and resentment that could easily last throughout one's lifetime. This book seeks a mature audience and the mature reader should easily relate to the contents thereof.

About the Author

E.E. Brock lives in Lumberton, North Carolina with his wife Gloria and their young son Edward. Growing up in rural Robeson County close to the South Carolina border as a teen he began to write poetry. Through the years he has been asked by friends and family to write poetry on all occasions from weddings to funerals. Now as a forties something published author, he feels that it was indeed these exercises that helped him hone his skills at poetry. The author states being able to welcome criticism has also played a key role in the concept of this book. His advice to authors seeking publication ,first seek out people to critique your work preferably strangers. You will find that they are the most observant and that they will not hold back criticism.

The author also enjoys fishing the Lumber River that runs through the heart of his home town. His second passion besides writing he says is astronomy. He says soon he hopes to devote an entire book about the heavens in poetry.
