If Fate Allows

 One was born with a silver spoon to feed from, the other was lucky if he had a clean spoon to use. This was the birth rite this beautiful young southern girl and this handsome young man found themselves growing up in.

Evelyn Clarkson was born of well to do parents in a small town in Southern Mississippi, a very self assured young lady. Anthony “Tony “ Maggio was born in Jackson the largest city in Mississippi to a heavy drinking mechanic  and a mother who wished she never had any children. Each possessed what the other was looking for but would they ever get to know that, as they were born into two different worlds.

Evelyn attended a private school so she could prepare herself for college. Being very popular and very attractive she had all the boys vying for her attention. Tony attended the local public high school and was a very good athlete and his rugged good looks made him a favorite of all the young ladies at his school.

During the summer months Tony earned money working for a lawn maintenance company and he traveled many hours each way as they worked on many large commercial properties, one of these properties was Gabriel Academy the private school Evelyn attended.

The summer of her sophomore year she went to summer school to catch up on a course she had missed out on during her freshman year. As she walked to class she dropped her books near the garden in front of Curtis Hall where her class was meeting in 10 minutes.

Tony who was working on the garden at the time came to her aid and picked up her books and as their eyes met neither could say anything, it was if they were looking right into each others souls,  “here are your books he finally said” Evelyn accepted his help and thanked him and walked on.

Both thought briefly of each other as they parted company, what they didn’t know was that their lives would be intertwined and are destined to fall in love but will repeatedly 

be sidetracked by the circumstances of their lives.
