AFRAID OF BEING FAR FROM YOU!
Lord as I grace your presence the scent of your spirit makes me well
Just being close to you helps me to breathe
It helps me to accept the things that are hard to believe
When I embrace your presence tears fall from my eyes
No, I’m not sad or mad; it is just true joy in my cries
But the devil is a thief, and he can’t stand to see me with no grief
So he tries his best to step in
He tries so hard to pull me into sin
And you know sometimes I’m blinded and can’t see
I take a step back and go where he wants me to be
How can I take a step back into this lying world?
Without realizing I’m garnishing the name of God’s little girl
Oh, but how do I realize that his spirit has gone
Except when I knock on Jesus door and there is no one at home
I’ve done that once and it broke me down you see
Right down to the floor, down on bended knee
To the Lord my God I had to repent
Without repentance from sin, how can my destiny be heaven sent
Although I’ve had to start over, his presence is keeping me strong
But I rather start again than to still be doing wrong
If you have ever felt his spirit in you
You should understand me,
And if the love for Jesus Christ in your heart has grew
You know exactly what I am going through
Since that day I couldn’t feel God, I’ve been too afraid to turn around now
Lord I need you on my side for in you I shall abide
Because I’m too afraid of being far away from you!

About the Book
This poetry book is full of emotions and feelings that one may experience or feel on their way to becoming a saint. It is lined up in a way of how the enemy will test you while you have the desire to walking closer with God. Whether it is self, friends, or the world that makes you question if you are doing right by becoming saved, the key to overcoming is having a relationship with God. Always talk to him and tell him how you feel. Remember to never give up and always hold on.

Tameka Lashell Brown-Head starting writing poetry when she was about 12 years old. From a Sinner to a Saint will be the first writing that she has in print! She is a graduate of Maynard Evans High School, and Orlando Vo-Tech where she obtained a degree in Cosmetology. She is lives in Orlando, FL with her husband and 3 kids. She has had the opportunity to have one of her poems published in Twilight Musings!!! She is very excited about the journey God has for her life and prays that this book becomes a blessing for many who needs encouragement!
