About the Book

“Cultivating the Soul: Digging for the Truth” is a collection of devotions that share with the reader one gardener’s spiritual thoughts as she tends to her gardens.  These short stories, accompanying prayers and scriptural references draw the parallels of spiritual truths and time spent with nature.  It seeks to provide inspiration to dig for the heavenly truths that lay beneath the earthly soil.   After all, time began in a garden and returning there to cultivate your soul is where you will learn the principles that gardeners already know; there is always another season ahead and a time and purpose for all of God’s plans for you.

About the Author

Born in Texas, Cindy grew up in Bedford a small town in Indiana where she still resides with her two adopted four legged companions—Tres and Madison.  Cindy received a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Administration from Ball State University and holds a M.P.A. in NonProfit Management from Indiana University.  She has worked at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana in various departments for almost two decades and has taught courses in Career Development and Volunteer Management for I.U. as well as a Business Course for Ivy Tech, a Community College.

Cultivating the Soul is Cindy’s first foray in publishing; although she has applied her love of writing by serving for nine years as the communications chair for the local humane society and has written for several nonprofit boards where she was a member.  By sharing her gardening analogies in this book, it is her desire that others will be inspired to look for the Divine in the place where it all began…the garden.
