This is just a sneaky-peek at some parts of the story.
Slowly Chantelle looked up towards the ceiling, trying to picture what colour scheme she would need, to bring the old cottage to life. She would be 26 in a few weeks and this was her first job – commission after finishing college four years ago.
It was a small thatched cottage, the kind you see on chocolate boxes, only this little one, needed drastic care and attention. She had fallen in love with the cottage as soon as she had seen it. Now then… down to business.
The beams holding up the ceiling seemed to be sound, but she would have to get them checked properly by a builder. The main room had three small leaded windows which didn’t let an awful amount of light in. Still, if she chose carefully, the room would have a warm cosy feel about it. Safe, yes that’s the word she wanted, safe, but from what!
“Right then” said Glyn, and stood up and walked over to a crumpled giggling mess, who was Chantelle, and proceeded to shake all over like a wet dog does. Chantelle looked up and a blanket of flour descended down on her like feathers escaping from a burst pillow,
“Stop it.” She said still laughing, “Stop it you idiot... you’re covering me in flour too.” She stood up and grabbed what was left of the flour bag and jammed it down on Glyn’s head. The bag exploded and what was left flew around the room and down the back of Glyn’s clothes. Gedd sat down hard on one of the kitchen chairs and just looked at the scene evolving in the kitchen.
“Right, you witch!” Glyn said as he grabbed a handful of suet-mix. “Come here if you think you’re so brave.”
“No...No... Glyn. Come on I was only playing.” Chantelle backed away slowly. Gedd continued to watch, but stealthily he leaned across the table and rescued what was left of his dumpling mix. Chantelle hoped that she had re-assured Honey a bit and as she got up to go she grinned again and said “Where’s the ring then?” Honey smiled and said. "He didn’t want to buy it in case I said no. Well that’s what I think. Gedd said he needed to know how big!! Cheeky sod put a ‘lastic band on look!” She pulled out her left hand from under the covers and sure enough, on the 3rd finger was a bright yellow elastic band. Chantelle laughed and said. “Mind it’s not on too tight, we don’t want your finger to fall off. I’ll see you after okay.” She headed off towards the door and Honey called out. “Thanks".

About the Book
Chantelle is 'damaged goods' according to the man who hurt her. Chantell then gets a commision to renovate a cottage, in a sleepy little village. She doesn't know that she will meet another man, who will heal her soul and show her how to trust and love again.
Learning to trust and love again, she also meets a few more unique people who help her to realise that life is worth living and so her journey begins.
But Chantelle doesn't know that the man who hurt her will again feature in her life.
Will she survive, or fall again?
About the Author
Sally Loveday originates from Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, England. Where life was interesting and diverse. Where the countryside was green, not like todays concrete jungle.
Sally moved overseas to live in Germany with her brother and wife, where she applied and started to work for the forces, whilst working overseas she met her future husband to be Philip.
Sally Loveday has been a very keen writer of poetry, this has always been her first love, especially where children are involved. She has had her poems published on the web, with some commissioned works going as far afield as Canada, Pakistan and Germany.
She also has written lyrics for her own CD, with music by Andrew Brown, called 'Matilda Mine'. This shows how diverse Sally has become when achieving her goals. At present Sally is working on songs for a stage show, based on Wales' involvement in the Spanish Civil War.
Writing this book has given her a new purpose and feeling of achievement. In other ways, it was a way of proving to herself, friends and family she can write a book, and that hopefully is enjoyable to read. Sally hopes to show the reader that she has an understanding of the complexities of romance.
