... The girl, she was saying, "I SAW IT, I SAW IT ALL.” "Woooh!” I said to myself. “Had she?” The young lady who walked into my office was a stranger. My assistant had taken the liberty to inform me that she had seen her around the complex before, but that she didn't know her either. Barbara, my assistant, had not been able to extract or ascertain the full reason for her visit. Seemingly, she was an upper-crust type. She simply wasn't conforming to our strict policy, which was very noticeable at the front entrance. The sign said, 'YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT.' It was in big bold letters and she could hardly have missed it. In addition, Barbara had this odd feeling - that maybe I should see her. This was very unusual for Barbara, because she was always protective of office business and office rules. But to Barbara, this young lady seemed to be on a purposeful mission - a mission that had a memorable message written all over the messenger's face. So Barbara thought I should take a closer look. The insight of Barbara, my assistant, had wisdom. She believed that this was a single moment in time when it was okay to bend the rules. She did and she was asking for my approval. At that point of notice, even I was both curious and apprehensive. This was concerning the 'Trial of the Century.' I had been a Senior Editor for some few years. Had written a few books, but only one was a best seller. Now I was the Editor-In-Chief and Senior Vice President of one of the largest book publishing company's in the country. We were always looking for a best seller in this genre. In fact, we were looking for the sale of the century. We were in the mass marketing business and Barbara was very much attuned to our mission. This young lady seemed to be looking to talk to an executive of our company, and had somehow made her way to the right place - several times I should say. I found this out later on. So, when Barbara finally asked her what her reason was for being there, the lady reciprocated more of an answer to Barbara than Barbara had verbally received. In any event, she knew this lady was on a mission. Barbara's very mode of understanding and her wisdom to envision great publishing possibilities left me no other choice. "Send her in," I instructed.

About the Book
This book is satire and should not be considered otherwise. It is contrived as fictional, but is taken from real life events as the author watches the media each day of the trial. This book is about the trial itself. It will be a different read from other books concerning the ‘Trial of the Century’ and the man himself, Orenthal J. Simpson. However, one should read this book with zeal, fervor, anxiousness and at times - wisdom. There will be courtroom drama and courtroom combat – the American way. Many words and phrases will be colloquial, and chatty. Each play by play will have its own, wit, humor and understanding toward the trial, as you will soon see. The story never intends to demean the families – only the events of the trial. There are two teams The Head Hunting Prosecutors Vs The Dream Team Defense Machine Each is in battle for their client The story soon fashions itself Into a sporting depiction of our criminal justice system as viewed through and by the eyes of the author - its system, the O.J. Simpson trial, and our society. As the story unfolds, the reading becomes dramatic and fast-paced, before settling down. The story soon envelopes into its own saga as it twist its way through the satire of the trial, the social understanding, and the awareness. About the Author
Mr. Hanley has been a prolific writer in both church and small publications. He is always ready to attach his thoughts and wisdom - in satire at random - whenever the opportunity arises. He has been married to his wife Theresa for more than 33 years and has four children and several grandchildren. He resides in Florida.
The author attended Tennessee State University, Kentucky Wesleyan College and Owensboro Business College. He has held marketing, consultanting and management positions with such companies as General Electric, John Hancock, A.L. Williams and Mammoth Life Insurance Companies. He is retired, and was last employed by the previously known Martin Marietta Aluminum Company in Kentucky - now named Commonwealth Aluminum Corporation - before trying his hand at his own business.
Writing has become Mr. Hanley's foremost pasttime after retirement. An Ode To Satire is his first national publication.
