Forget me not
"Forget me not
As shadows lie
And the sun does set,
As stars will shine
So bright above
I too shall not forget."
Stones on the shoreline
"Time waits for no one, As well I do know
Things come between us, And then the years go,
Watching and waiting, It will never be
As stones on the shoreline are lost to the sea."
So still the night
"So still the night
The stars are bright
Up in the evening sky,
Alone I stare
Through twilight air
And watch the night go by,
Above the trees
Are memories
Of all I left behind,
So far away
My heart does stay
You never leave my mind."
Evergreen
"Always in my heart you dwell
Wherever I may go,
Always in my thoughts you stay
My future I now know,
And through all the years I've lived
And all the dreams I've seen,
My love for you will last forever
Like the evergreen."
Infinity
"I now think of that distant time
I can't forget your name,
All those days that have gone by
Do fill my heart with shame,
If only I had told you
Just once how much I care,
My love would reach infinity
And find you waiting there."

About the Author
Andrew John Blakemore was born on January 1st 1966 in the town of Aldridge near Walsall in the West Midlands UK. He was educated at Aldridge School. He later gained a BA honours degree in music. Andrew has been writing verse since the age of 14 but didn't take it up seriously until the year 2001. His mother Doris, is the editor of the Aldridge Methodist Church Newsletter and one month she had an empty space that needed to be filled. She asked Andrew if he could write a religious poem to fill the space and he kindly agreed to do so. His first published work was entitled "A child is born" in January 2001. This was followed by a visual poem called "Look upon this word made cross." Many people enjoyed reading these works and encouraged him to write more. As a result, he soon gained a regular spot in the Church Newsletter. Although it only has a circulation of 250 copies a month, Andrew still recalls how proud he was to see his name and work in print for the first time. As one might expect, many of his poems have a religious and spiritual nature. Andrew has had numerous poems published before by Anchor books and Forward Press and last year released his own 80 page self published book called "Kaleidoscopes and Rainbows" that was very well received. He was recently awarded Forward Press poem of the month winner for July 2007.
