"Christy, is that you?" She was in a total panic, her body frozen still like a painting. She hadn't heard that name in years. Nervous, but not looking around, she tried to hurry. She could feel her skin getting hotter and hotter, sweat was beading up on her forehead. Her heart was pounding so hard she thought that it was going to jump out of her chest. Alana felt as if her chest was going to cave in. She could hardly breathe, she felt as if she was going to pass out. Immediately she stopped filling the car, in her hurry she spilled some gas on the car and on the ground. Nervously she fumbled with the gas cap trying to put it back on the tank. Nothing was working right, her hands were shaking, she dropped the cap and it rolled under the car. She bent down to retrieve it, quickly reaching under the car to grab the cap. As she was straightening up, she noticed a pair of man's shoes beside her. All she could think of was hurry, for Gods sake hurry. Nervous and noticeably shaken she was wondering was it the man that had called her name? Was she going to recognize him? What could he want with her? Alana knew it had to be someone from many years ago. No one had called her that since she lived in Florida. She knew that it could only mean one thing and that was trouble. Anyone that would know her by that name would be from her past and was not anyone that she would want to see or get aquainted with agian.She knew that she must remain cool and convince him that she was not who he thought her to be.

About the Book
A Moment to Late is a suspenseful mystery about a young woman who moves away to make a new life. Meets the man of her dreams and seems to have the perfect life. That is until a accidental encounter from her past threatens everything that she worked so hard for. Even with a part of her past out in the open she still managed to keep somewhat of a normal life. Until one day the husband that she thought she had killed, shows up alive and well. She had been worried that the secrets from her past would ruin the life that she had built. Only to find out that her husband was keeping the biggest secret of all.
About the Author
My name is Lorna Williams. I have previously had a poem published in a book called " Of Moonlight and Wishes". I love to put my thoughts down in written form. It allows me to share my thoughts with others. It took the death of my son to give me the courage to publish my book. I kept saying that one day I would write a book and then I did but was afraid to send it to anyone. I was afraid of what they would think. His death made me realize that we should never put off anything that we want to do, because we never know when the next moment will be a moment to late to do what you wanted to.
