Each of the portraits on the wall were wizards that had held the same position over centuries past. All of them had shared the same hope: that theirs would be a peaceful term in office and that they would never be called upon to uphold the oathe they had sworn. This oath to protect the village had come about hundreds of years ago when the dark lord Manstra had used his evil magic to curse the village of Tomar. The skies turned black and the land becam barren. None of the trees bore fruit and the fields would yiled no crops. Not even a single blade of grass grew on the once verdant land.

About the Book
A story of three children who are drawn into a book of wizards and sorcery with only one way of returning home. They must do battle against an evil lord who has over thrown the land of Tomar, their mission to return this once beautiful land back to its rightful owners, the Tomarians, facing many obstacles and adventures on their perilous journey.
About the Author
Born in Doncaster in 1965 Richard C Hotchen grew up and attended the local secondary schools in the area. Born into a large family all local to the Doncaster area, Richard was never short of company. After commencing his employment with nearby organisations, in his thirties he founded a recruitment consultancy sourcing permanent staff across the whole of the UK. This then funded the opportunity to build properties, again in the local community, where Richard felt his knowledge of the area was strongest, and also where he could put back into the community what it had provided him over his earlier years.
Having a very active imagination, Richard at 41 felt the time was right to share this, and put it into the body of a childrens fantasy book. Feeling that this is the best target age letting their thoughts and imagination run away and letting them become part of the fantasy!
