Meeting the Challenges
After more than 30 years of legalized abortion in our nation, we are beginning to understand the far-reaching affects of abortion on women who are suffering the aftermath of their abortion decision. With millions of abortions “on the abortion counter” there are many, many suffering women "out there."
Because one in six women in our churches are now suffering from the aftermath of an abortion choice, (according to a survey conducted by George Barna) over 225,000 “women of trauma” are added to the body of Christ every year.
As the numbers grow, it is becoming increasingly clear that churches, counselors, and women’s ministries must begin to learn how to reach out to these women.
Yet, those touched by an abortion decision believe they are “exceptions to the rule.” They feel they have sinned beyond God’s capacity to forgive. Additionally, if this woman has been touched by any sort of abuse, she will be unable to picture God as the loving heavenly Father who will accept her in her brokenness.

About the Book

About the Author
Trudy M. Johnson, M.A., L.M.F.T. is a licensed clnical therapist in private practice. She works with women suffering from depression, abuse, trauma and emotional regulation at Crossroads Counseling of the Rockies and teaches post-abortion and trauma counseling to pastors, lay leaders and pregnancy center staff as a part of Master's International School of Divinity Life Issues Counseling Degree program.
