About the Book

Throughout its history humankind has continued to wage war on itself.  Why can’t we get along?  The authors’ combined experiences was suggesting an answer and, more importantly, a solution to this problem.   To test their ideas, they conducted a survey of hundreds of people domestically and internationally, from all walks of life.  The survey produced significant data to support the authors’ answer and solution.

The findings showed that humans share a common purpose — to know their Creator and to serve their fellow humans.  And yet humans don’t always practice their purpose.  Why?  It is because we learn to fear differences and therefore choose to fear each other.   We have been unable — unwilling — to appreciate the commonality of humankind.  Whether it’s the shared planet,  the shared Creator, or the recognition that we are all together in this human experience, we just don’t see that We Are One!  So we choose not to accept one another and therefore choose not to extend love.

The choices are driven by belief systems which are created by our individual life experiences.  Therefore, the belief systems must be altered to allow for understanding, and from understanding will come acceptance, and then trust, and finally love.  The changing of the belief system is simply a matter of choice — choosing how you react to what you see and hear.  It’s not easy, but it’s that simple.

So changing your belief system will change your perceptions and you can change your world!

About the Author

Don and Thelma Olexa are parents, grandparents, have had successful careers and are world travelers.

After raising and college educating their blended family of ten kids (who have blessed them with 20 grandchildren), and completing exciting careers – Don as an attorney and corporate executive, and Thelma as a professional actress and singer, they began a new mission.

Don holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Penn State followed by a Juris Doctorate from George Washington Law School and later completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.  Thelma studied at the Chicago Musical College, attended the University of Colorado and studied with a number of vocal and dramatic coaches including Elena Nikolaidi at Florida State University.  Both have earned Doctor of Divinity Degrees from the American Institute of Holistic Theology.

In 1987 when Thelma was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, defeating that disease became the Olexas’ mission.  Research, studying, traveling, meditation and prayer were all put into play.  And Don took early retirement to ensure that their time together was productive.  And it was!  Together they explored most medical possibilities — traditional and alternative — as well as cultural and religious teachings.  The search was a marvelous education and experience (The authors wish everyone could take such a joyous ride.)  A secondary benefit of the healing that took place was the understanding of how much similarity there is among people all over the world.

As world travelers with countless face-to-face encounters across many cultures – they visited over 75 countries on 6 continents.

The end point was the realization and confirmation of the power of the mind and how we all have control of our lives through choice.  There was an underlying recognition that we are all

bound together on this planet Earth, sharing a common Creator by whatever name and pursuing a common purpose — to know yourself and your Creator and to serve your fellow humans.  The result of their studying and searching revealed the one basic truth — successful fulfillment in life is based on love.
