My entire house seemed to grow cold at that point. It was as if all the warmth had melted from the walls and the windows were splitting at the seams. From my point of view, the room Palomina and I were in was spinning.
But all the while, my dear afflicted Palomina remained motionless. A part of me wanted to be cynical to Julius, but I had too much compassion for that.
I mean, how was I not to believe that Julius didn’t have anything to do with this? He had been acting extraordinarily strange lately as I had said, and Palomina could have been the perfect puppet for his eccentric ways.
Too early to make such accusations.
But what about that mysterious brunette-haired woman that was at the hospital with him? And why was Palomina nowhere to be found?
I asked Palomina a second time if she wanted to leave the up-roared bedroom. Still with an iron grip around my neck, she seemed to nod as I flustered to keep her hair from spilling into my mouth.
One of her lifeless palms drooped about the floor as if it was lost and she didn’t need it. She was limping very noticeably on the left leg, but with her arms still draped around my neck, I managed to slowly walk her out of the room.
Each time she pressed down on her left foot, I could hear her squeal a little from inside. She seemed to have the phantom instinct to walk with her feet held close together, from being bound together in that position for quite some time.

About the Book

About the Author
Joey Lawrence is a 16-year-old author and Grade 12 student who hails from the province of Newfoundland & Labrador in Canada. He began writing "Till Death Do Us Part" at the age of 15 in the summer of 2005.
Lawrence has been writing short stories, poetry, songs, and plays since the age of seven. "Till Death Do Us Part" is his first published novel.
Lawrence says he got the idea for "Till Death Do Us Part" from the famous song by Marty Robbins entitled "El Paso," coveninently enough where the story takes place.
