My Poems These are the poems That I write--- Simple, narrative poems Of people I have known Things I have done Places I have been And places I’ve never seen Stories that I’ve heard Events that occurred Lovers to whom I’ve said goodbye Love that will never die All defined and expressed In these simple poems That I write If it comes a day And indeed it may My poetic voice you don’t hear And you wonder if I’m near Just open this book And with a quick look There you will hear and see The real poetic me Interwoven in these simple narratives Of words that I write.

About the Author
Phyllis K. Norwood was born and raised in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. She graduated from Prentiss Normal and Industrial Institute; received her Bachelor of Science Degree in English from Jackson State University (then Jackson State College), and her Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Classical Rhetoric and Teaching Composition from California State University at Dominguez Hills. She has done further graduate work at the University of Southern California, Pepperdine University, and California State University at Los Angeles. She is a college administrator and resides in Los Angeles, California.
