Grace childhood abuse
Grace was the youngest of eight children and she lived in Ghana, West Africa. Her mother married three husbands and got divorced three times. She had three children with her first husband, four children with the second and had Grace with the third husband. Life was not easy for Grace, she never had any attention from anybody. Her mother used to be a farmer so they worked on the farms a lot. One day her mother told her how she wanted to leave her on the farms when she was a baby, because she couldn’t cope with her any longer, then from nowhere, a man appeared in white clothing and told her never to think of abandoning her baby because she never know what she will be in future.
Since the children were divided into three sections, each husbands children stick to their own blood siblings. The first three children are very close and like to be the best, the next four kids wanted to be super, as if they were competing with each other, and that competition is still running in the family. None of the siblings are close to their stepbrothers or stepsisters. Grace was all by herself, nobody played with her, and she had nobody, as if she wasn’t wanted she was ignored. At five years old, if any of her siblings wants anything to be done, they called on Grace. She went to live with one of his brothers to help him on his farm, she milked the cows, shear the sheep, pluck the chickens and during harvesting she took all the vegetables to the market to sell. She was very helpful; everybody used her as a slave. Grace washed her siblings clothes, cooked, cleaned and did all sort of work that was meant for an adult at the age of seven and yet nobody showed her any love or even cared about her well being. Life was a disaster, she couldn’t understand why she had to work so hard at such a tender age and yet none of her family appreciated her.
When Grace was eight years old, she went to live with her father and stepmother. This experience was the worse she ever had. Her father was a gold smith so after all the gold has been made into necklaces, bracelets and earrings, Grace has to go and sell them. One might think her father will be the best person to protect her, because he had money coming in, there was food on the table and clothes on her back, but no her wicked step mother wouldn’t allow her to have nothing. She will let her do all the hard work in the house, she wasn’t allowed to sit on any of the chairs in the house. Always she has to sit on the floor, which was not carpeted. Her father had children with her stepmother, so Grace was happy to play with her brothers and sisters, but no her stepmother will not allow her children to play with Grace and her father couldn’t say a word, l guess he was scared of his mean wife.
When dinner was served her stepmother will push Grace plate from the kitchen floor to wherever she was sitting saying that is your food and if the plate doesn’t get to where Grace is sitting and the food has scattered all over the floor, she will get up and pick all the food up back into the plate and eat. She had no option and if she tries anything her stepmother will torture and abuse her. As a child she was told that she was always wrong and that an adult is always right. Even if she had a brilliant idea, she will be tortured for bringing up a great idea, adult did not respect a child in anyway. Grace went back and forth between her parents’ house until her father passed away and finally settled with her mother. Because no body really cared about her, she even stopped going to school. When she went out to play with her friends and wasn’t back at a certain time, nobody bothered to look for her, whether she was in trouble outside her home, nobody will stand behind her, she went through hell.
When she turned twenty-one, she became pregnant with a guy called Nathan. He was the oldest among his siblings, his dad had so many children with so many different women. His father used to beat him up with a stick and went through worse punishment as a child. But he was doing so well at school. Grace had her baby, it was a boy but they were still living with their parents and two years after, they had another baby, a little girl and they decided to move in together and got married. Then Nathan had a scholarship to study engineering in Russia. Whilst studying he thought that due to language barrier he rather continued his education in England. He found it very difficult to survive, since he was studying full time, so he invited Grace to join him and she left her two children with her mother and was very excited when she arrived in England. They stayed in Islington, north London, where she found a full time job. Surprisingly, Nathan’s behaviour changed he acted a
