About the Book

About The Book

This book will tell of the neglect and abuse my beautiful wife Marilyn received by the medical profession. It will tell of the wrong medications she received, It will tell of the ignored complaints I made, It will tell of how some doctors don't even bother to read records of a patient and go right ahead and prescribe medication and tests.

This is also a story of how I met Marilyn, how we grew up together and, after a two and a half year courtship, became man and wife. A good part of our years was sort of a struggle, mostly health problems.
Right after we wed we were able to set up a cozy little apartment, this was toward the end of World War 2. Housing at that time was impossible..servicemen coming home with hardly a place to live, quonset huts, over-crowded homes and apartments, but somehow.. the whole situation of getting our apartment and also being able to furnish it had to be a miracle and..it was here we were blessed with our first child, a son, Vince (Vinnie) Jr.

We never got into any serious trouble or debt but there were a few times I would stand there and scratch my head, look up into the sky and say to myself.

"What have I gotten us into."

About the Author

About the Author

I was born to Italian parents on October 3, 1924.  I have had very little education.. only six months of high school at the Bronx Vocational in the Bronx, New York.

Little did I know then that this book was written for a person that lived  only a stones throw from here.

I quit school to try to help the family financially as young as I was and what little I could contribute. I've gone through life just like any other person. I worked at many different jobs, from a produce market delivery boy to an auto mechanic, to a Best Western maintenance supervisor and also a few other jobs in between.
I was in business for myself four times, all different businesses. You can see I was always on the go.  I couldn't stay at any one thing for too long. I had to keep changing.

As of today I still have a hobby that I enjoy very much that keeps me pretty well occupied. When "WebTV" first came on the market I purchased a set-up,  It had what they called "Page Builder", with this feature I was able to create many web pages and sites, they where mostly of our family life, memories, old pictures, beautiful colors and music to listen to.

When Marilyn passed away, I created one of these websites as a tribute, a monument to her. WebTV picked up my site and published it on their "Pics and Pages" feature to be viewed on the internet. It had top billing for a whole month.

I received many comments on my work by email. Some nudging from friends and family persuaded me to write .. "Life With Marilyn."

This is our story and this is the birth of my writing career.
