When all the Lights went out
When I was just a little girl
I loved to scream and shout
Especially at night
When all the lights were out.
I would be so awful
I would cringe and I would frown.
Mommy would pull my covers up
And I would pull them down.
I would be so mad,
That sometimes I would yell;
And mommy would come into my room
And spank my little “tail.”
Sometimes mommy would warn me
with those fancy words she used;
I knew she would be turning off my light
But I was not amused.
I covered my ears
So I wouldn’t hear a word she said;
For I was determined
I was not going to bed!
But soon my eyes got heavy
and I sort of lost control;
The last thing I remember was mommy
Bending over me to bless my little soul.

About the Author
Glendoria Phillips Glover is a fiftyone year old independant, single black female who has overcome many obstacles in her life. Born and raised in the heart of Mississippi, Glendoria has seen and known many oppressions but has always had a heart for God.
Growing up in a single parent poverty stricken home certianly had it's affects on this author but she has managed to overcome every obstacle placed before her. She has spectacular bounced back from battered woman syndrome, battered parent syndrome, depression, sickness unto death, drug and alcohol abuse, men and money addictions, only to name a few. With the help and power of God Almighty, this woman has successfully overcame these issues and has compiled poetic testimonies in light of her achievements and new found freedom in Christ.
Glendoria gave her life to Christ on August 21st, 1992 and has since been teaching God's word as a Sunday School Teacher and as a Drug/Alcohol Recovery Ministry Instructor for the Great Commission Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX.
Glendoria believes that she has been called to write and share her stories with the world in an attempt to win more souls to Christ. "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. (Matt. 9:37)
Today this mother of three, grandmother of three, keeps herself in God's will by helping many souls find their way out of the darkness and into the marvelous light of Jesus Christ by sharing her unforgettable testiomonies. She is currently working on her third book as a sequel to "From Black and Blue to Christ", entitled Wounded Lambs. In her spare time she find strength to continue her hobbies of crafts and quilt making.
