In a flash, the Sovereign of Death had fallen on his knees in front of the burning stake, crying uncontrollably. As the burnt, broken shape of Junella was before him, tears rolled down his cheeks as he cursed underneath his breath. He felt weak and useless. He couldn’t even stop the killing of his one true love from happening, and he called himself the Sovereign of Death? He just kneed on the ground, crying, letting his mind wander as he tried desperately to accept what had happened. The only person that had been kind to him and accepted him had now been taken away from him, by the world who had wronged him so many times. He couldn’t put up with this anymore, everywhere he turned, and he was hurt in a way he would never recover. Now with this last wound, that the people scared him with, he would build his empire, and on that throne he made for himself, he would make sure they paid.
“This world has wronged me in ways I could never have imagined before now,” John Garner spoke as he got up back to his feet. His cheeks were wet with tears, as he faced his small army of peasants. “I am no longer John Garner, I am the Sovereign of Death, and the World will crumble before me! John Garner is dead! The little boy who was left out of games and groups is now dead! That boy is now the Sovereign of Death! He will no longer have to suffer! Burn this village to the ground and leave no survivors!” He shouted out the command as his men quickly ran to each house, lighting each one on fire, one by one. His army showed no mercy, just like the people showed the Sovereign of Death. The villagers were cut to pieces with little resistance, knowing that they should not have done what they did. But it was too late to regret their actions, because nothing could stop the Sovereign of Death from getting his revenge, nothing.
The Sovereign of Death turned back to his loved one that still lied in the flames.
The pain of looking into her dead, green eyes, were just too heavy. Her once lovely, pink hair was now burnt, leaving nothing behind.
You didn’t deserve this Junella, The Sovereign of Death said softly, If only I could have saved you in time, or at least taken your place.
Once again he broke out into tears, as he looked around at the village that he ordered to destroy. Would causing more death be what he wanted to gain revenge? Or would that only lower him to their level.
But he didn’t care, because he fed off the pain of others now. Every shriek of pain shouted from a mouth of a person was food for him. For the Sovereign of Death had become the root of all evil.
“This is for you Junella,” the Sovereign of Death spoke spitefully in an evil but caring way, as he reached over and grabbed a bucket of oil that had started the fire.
He held the bucket in his hands, said a few words as a blessing, and then emptied the oil into the fire. The oil that had started the fire now turned the fire into a flaming inferno. The fire burst open with newly formed flames, and the body was engulfed and burnt in seconds.
“John Garner is dead, The Sovereign of Death is born,” he said as he returned to knees to pray, for Junella to come back. Although the Sovereign of Death knew she wouldn’t come back in human form that he would hold once again, but he knew his prayers weren’t in vain. Her spirit would live on.

There were times in history that were recorded and great study were put in them, but there was a time, that was lost to the ages. Long ago a boy gifted with powers beyond comprehension was born. In this time the people couldn’t understand the boy, and was afraid of him. But the fears only lead to hatred as they tried everything in their power to cause the boy to run away, or die. He had been gifted with wings that were of close resemblance to those of a figure they worshiped. He had other powers that if used they would rain down terror among the people. But the boy could not stand to the cruel treatment that he endured every day. It was time for him to become free. He flew away from his home town, and gathered an army controlling them with his powers, creating a bond from his thoughts, to the people. The boy didn’t want to be treated the way he did, nor did he want to be seen different. He returned to town with his army, although only to find his only person that he cared and loved for burned at the stake, because she had talked to him. It was the last scar that the boy could take. He swore that the world wouldn’t do anything to him that he did not like. With that a dark time swept over the world. With his powers and ever-growing army, his force was unstoppable. His slaughter of thousands could not be stopped, and his craving for power could not be satisfied. On the throne he made himself he watched over the land with an iron hand, sweeping away any resistance. But nothing lasts for ever, and his throne will be taken away.

Anthony D. Zagar is an educated young student. He had always had wonderful ideas of stories all the time, and sooner or later he decided to put them on paper to create a book made by himself. His love of reading helped his passion of writing flourished, as he found newer, better ways to express his ideas in writing.
