About the Author

Teddy Begay was born on the Navajo Indian reservation during the winter of 1950.  He grew up in a world that taught traditional values helping him lay the basic principles of survival for his family.  He realized this foundation helped him relate to a changing world that was diminishing his cultural identity by managing to acculturate his unique life’s learning experience to fit into his world.

Out of nine children, only he graduated from  high school and went to work in the coal mining industry, specializing in reclamation and environmental work.
