About the Book

This book deals with Lord Curzon's policy towards the Princely States of India. The background of previous Government policy and Lord Curzon's ideas are examined. His own policy is critically analysed along with those concerned with the Coronation of Edward VII with special reference to the role of the Princes and Chiefs. An assessment is then made of the general problems concerning the States internal administration and industrial development.


About the Author

 

Dr Ikram Ahmed Butt was born on 6th September 1921 at Quetta Pakistan. He was a lecturer at Lyallpur Government College.  He married Hamida Malik in March 1952 and has one son. He came to England in 1957 and did his PhD from London University in 1963 on Lord Curzon. He then went back to Pakistan where he taught Political Science at Government College Lahore from 1967 to 1971.He came back to England and worked in various schools till he retired.
