The One thing
I never thought
To want to question
In Life
Is Love
And I
Was right
ALONENESS
In the dark last night I conjured up a wish
To meet my lover
The wish winked
Slid down a rainbow at the very end of the sky
Twinkling, it soared into the void
I rolled over alone, sighing, breathing fully,
Drifting into sleep and stillness
The remembrance of my lover close to me
Today, awake I feel
He may appear
He may not
We may find each other
We may not
But the joy of owning that wish
Has cast a smile across
All that remains unknown

About the Book
These poems were written while exploring my emotions over a period of a few years, and the world around me. At the same time I searching for the organic but often invisible threads that give us a range of experiences of consciousness that are specific yet change like the weather. To express these momentary pictures in poems with meanings I give to them connect me to just about everything and is the pleasure of my purpose.
About the Author
The author wrote the children's picture book, SCAMPER & FLEE, and has published several newspaper articles under the pen name of Elin Bard for DANS PAPERS OF THE HAMPTONS, and THE NEW YORK TIMES. This is the first book published of her poetry.
