About the Book

Parting shots: Stories About Hollywood

"Parting Shots" is a fast romp through the hidden aspects of
Tinsel Town with a famous gossip colunist as your tour guide. Alternately dark and hilarious, this collection of eight short stories is set in the 1970's TV industry in Hollywood. The stories star fictional counterparts of the most powerful and famous actors, directors and producers of that time. Network television enjoyed a lucrative ride that decade; cable had not really taken hold yet. But below the surface of phony smiles and fame lay heartache, greed, mental illness, public humiliations and on-camera disasters. From boardrooms to bedrooms, from sound stages to shabby detoxes, "Parting Shots" moves with lightning speed transitions through this darker side of Hollywood that never made the newspapers. What drives the well paced plots in "Parting Shots" is the author's uncanny genius for drama and the calculated balance of good and evil.

About the Author

I was a TV actress in Hollywood in the 1970's. I appeared in such TV hits as Mission Impossible, I Dream of Jeannie, Falcon Crest, Dynasty and Knot's Landing. During this time, my closest friend was a prominent Hollywood gossip colunist, now deceased. The stories in "Parting Shots" are told from the point of view of that columnist's fictional counterpart, Mona Caulfield, as she prepares to retire. Using my personal diaries and memories, and the stories she told to me, I created "Parting Shots" for your entertainment. I hope you enjoy these crazy, gifted and famous folk as they plow through Hollywood like a runaway train!
