About the Author

Phil Bottomley ran a successful business until ill health forced him to retire in late 1999. Not one to sit and brood, he applied to the local College of Further Education and acquired a position as a part-time English tutor.

Whilst there he began writing Painkiller, his first major work. Previously he had written short stories and verse, mainly for the amusement of family and friends,

He is now writing full-time and is about to complete his second novel; a follow-up to Painkiller is also in the pipeline.
