Science and technology are doing amazingly great things in our generation and knowledge is greatly being advanced - what a great knowledge God has given to human race. It helps us to think again that, “What have we got that has not been given?” and “What have we discovered that has not been earlier created?” We are fearfully and wonderfully made. It is an amazing revelation that we are made in the image of God. What does this really mean and what difference does it really make? Most of us are pre-occupied with work, studies,
research and all the like. Most of us are even pre-occupied with ourselves and how we measure up to the popular ideas about the way we should look and live that we don’t even have time to think about the how God sees things. The mental picture we carry of ourselves influences our attitudes and emotions. This also affects our relationship with God, family and friends. In fact, everything we do and say, at work, at school, or in the home, is coloured by whether we understand what it means to be made like God, to turn to Him at The Turning Point of our life. Do you know that God expects us to turn to Him in all our decision making so that He can direct us appropriately? Do you realize that He has a purpose for creating us? He was, He is, and forever He will be. Before our conception he had planned every step we shall take, all the enjoyment and sorrow that will come our way. Don’t you know that He loves us before we ever think of loving Him?
If we are secured and confident in who we are, it will be reflected in a positive attitude and a warm acceptance of other people no matter their colour, race or even religion. However, if we are always afraid and full of self-thought, we will approach life in an expectation of failure and rejection. Psalm 139:13-18 develops the creation truth stated in the book of Genesis; and I quote, “For you created my inner most being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful and I know that fully well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts oh God! How vast is the sum of them. Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.”
