About the Author

James Lyon was born in 1941 in Aberdeen , Scotland. After leaving school he studied at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture where he qualified as an architect. After working for three local firms he set up his own practice in 1976. Twenty years later he took early retirement to spend time travelling and helping his community.

An active sportsman in his younger days, he enjoys hillwalking, after dinner speaking, composing poetry and playing golf. Happily married for over 40 years he has two children and three grandchildren who all live locally.
