We don’t lie.
We don’t cheat or steal.
We’re not fake.
We keep it real.
We don’t expose ourselves
For the world to see.
We carry ourselves
With great dignity.
Our bodies are precious
They’re not a tool.
The value of this temple
Is beyond that of a jewel.
If we want a man
We’ll get our own.
Before we’ll take yours
We’ll be alone.
We keep God first,
Cause that’s His place.
Our ultimate goal
Is to see His face.
We don’t strip each other bare
With the words we say.
We understand each other’s value
Praising them in every way.
Education is key
To moving ahead.
Regardless of circumstances
We let our minds be fed.
We pass on strength
To the children we bare.
We kiss them often
To let them know we care.

passage between the early teenage years to adulthood is filled with
changes, chances and choices. The moves you’re going to make

About the Author
My name is Sharon High-Williams. I’m forty-something, a wife and the mother of what I believe to be a brilliant, caring, educated, inspiring, delightful, diva-ish daughter, Johniqua. I am a Colorado native but I currently reside in the Atlanta metro area surrounded by my loving extended family. I’ve worked with young people for over twenty-four years and I’ve developed a sincere desire to see girls/young women “potientialize”. Potientialize means to realize and then maximize their potential.
This book is a celebration of women from every stage. I want to celebrate the women in my life that have poured into me. The late Roberta High, my mother, Johniqua, my daughter, Sheila, Valerie Ann, Toni, Tanisha, Adrianna, Ericka and Donyelle. I celebrate every girl, pre-teen and young woman that I have had the privilege of working with. I celebrate my mentors who saw and yet see something in me and aren’t afraid to help me push it out.
