Journey Through the Hidden Door

     The forest was dark. Small points of light filtering through the denseness of the trees were all that passed for light. The only sounds were that of my ragged breathing and the pounding of my heart. I was crouched and my body was tensed. I could not see any movement but I know something is out there.  There was someone or something out there and they were hunting me. Where were they? I wondered. The forest was quiet. Too quiet! There was someone here I know it. I can feel it. To my right I catch sight of movement. What was that? I see a gray shimmer.  Just as I am ready to move I see something else. A beast like creature is moving slowly through the foliage of the forest. The beast has got to be at least ten feet tall probably more like twelve and weighs at least 800 pounds. It is huge! He is like a troll you would see in storybooks for children. There are thick splotches of hair growing from its head. His nose is huge beak shaped and he is wearing some kind of armor. He is following the gray clad person. Do they know there is that creature behind them? I could here the creature lumbering through the under brush, surely they could hear them too. The person in gray had now bent down as if his shoe has come untied. I want to call out and warn him. Just as I am about to act on that and call out the person turns to me and seems to place his finger against his lips to keep me from calling out that warning. I can see now that he is an elf. He is setting the troll beast up. As the troll beast comes up behind them he turns and plunges his sword into the stomach of the beast. The forest is filled with the painful roar of the beast.

     As the beast engaged him in fighting I saw another one coming through the forest. I raise my bow and aim at the second beast he is hit and he roars in anger as I let two more arrows go. Each has found their target and the beast starts to head my way. I see the gray figure has now gained the upper hand on the troll he is fighting. I pull my sword as the troll nears me. Raising my sword I turn and swing as the troll runs at me. They are not very nimble in movement and I soon maneuvered the troll up against a tree. He tried to block my blows but I soon drew blood form his thick skin. Finally I bring the blade of my sword crashing down upon his neck severing his head from his body. As I turn towards the other beast I see that the elf has killed him.
