About the Book

How do we determine in this walk of life which lives are to be sacrificed and which ones are to be saved?

In this book, you will go on a journey of love and pain, loss and gain. You will feel closer than you have ever felt to a stranger and his family as they go through the experiences of Hurricane Katrina. You will witness the turmoil through the eyes of the Washington family. So often as people from afar, we miss the raw emotions that occur in a tragedy and cannot grasp the hope or hopelessness of those who find courage in the darkest hour. We fail to see the transformation a horrific adversity can have on an ordinary person, changing them into extraordinary heroes.

This book will allow you the opportunities and the experiences of fighting through the natural disaster known as Hurricane Katrina, when all hope seemed lost,  one single person made a difference. It shows how that same person dealt with the feeling of being Lost and Betrayed in a place he knew as home.

Lost and Betrayed, an American Tale will take you on a journey back to the American disasters of the last few years and share with you the side the media does not show, which is the side of the ordinary family. This is an extraordinary tale of a simple man who, through his nightmarish events, became a hero the country loved and admired. However, his fame came to him at a cost he felt was too much to bear. Was it worth it?  That is a question you will have to answer after reading this story. One thing is for sure…few will view things the same once they have finished Lost and Betrayed, an American Tale.
