About the Book

This book is the result of a God-challenge.  I was going through a rather confusing time in my life, voicing bitterness, anger, and defeat.  As I endeavored to record a music CD (which is part of my vision), production went from slow motion, to no motion.  God challenged me to stop complaining, and begin to journal.  As I began to look inward, considering MY BEHAVIOR, some truths were revealed to me that have undoubtedly changed my entire life.  What began as a journal culminated as nine topics relative to the entire experience.

There’s nothing discriminating about tribulation.  However, to carefully analyze your behavior and own every consequence, hints of maturity.  If you’re ready to move from “JUSTIFY” to “MODIFY”, this book is a great tool to help you begin that transformation.  God has assigned me to encourage those who have been hurt in ministry.  Chapter 10 contains a faith confession that I implore you to speak daily concerning your life.                                                                                                                          John D. Man of the people, minister to many, and musician for the masses.

SINGER / SONGWRITER

John D. McConnell is a powerful singer with a phenomenal gift for encouragement.  This artist’s voice will command your attention with its boisterous sound and booming anointing.  John McConnell, a native of Kansas City, Kansas, made Houston, Texas his home in 1995.  His roots are from a traditional Baptist upbringing, which he credits for his solid foundation in the word of God.

John and his music weave R&B, modern rock, hip-hop, pop jazz, and traditional gospel into a seamless fabric.  In 2000, John established Prolyric Productions, a songwriting company of positive, pro-social lyrics.  The goal of this organization is to write the songs that change the world.

John currently serves as Minister of Music at Word of Restoration Christian Fellowship Church, located in Fresno, Texas (Charles E. Perry Jr., Pastor).

EDUCATOR

John attended Saint Mary College in Leavenworth, Kansas, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1994.  From teacher, to safety trainer, to prevention specialist, John has invested the past twelve years of his life as a child advocate.  John is a man of many words, and has become a voice that speaks to and for thousands of people.  Presently, John is employed by the Houston Independent School District as a reading instructor.
