About the Book

Spring arrives, ready to make everything fresh and alive again, but as she begins the job of making things beautiful she is rudely interrupted by Winter’s unexpected return.

Winter frightens her away for a time, but Spring does not give in and finds courage to return. She battles with Winter for her rights, and with skill and the element of her own craftiness chases the mean old Winter away.

About the Author

I was born on the beautiful island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.  I left the Bahamas in 1969 to attend Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. I graduated in 1974  with a college diploma which was later upgraded to a Bachelors Degree in Religious Education (B.R.E.).

While in college I met my husband, Godfrey. We have been married for almost 32 years and have three grown sons and one beautiful grand daughter.

My professional career began in the banking industry at the tender age of 16.  I worked at Barclays Bank, in the Bahamas, but due to my husband's profession we have moved many times and have lived in three different provinces in Canada and several islands of the Bahamas.

As a result I have had the privilege of having a number of different professional experiences, including teaching at both the high school and pre-school level. I also have three years administrative experience as a preschool principal in Nassau, Bahamas. I am presently living in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

I enjoy working with children and have years of experience in different types of children’s programs.  These include Sunday school, Pioneer Girls Clubs, Camp counselor and summer vacation Bible clubs. My favorite hobbies are reading, sports of all kinds and enjoying nature.

I also enjoy writing poetry and in the last 18 months I have written more than 40 poems. I am a member of the International Society of Poets and have received several awards for my poetry including being nominated by the Society as Poet of the Year in 2005 and 2006.  I have had several poems published in the U.S.A. and in the U.K.   I am also an artist and have sold several of my paintings.

Writing children’s books is a new venture for me, but it is one I hope to pursue more thoroughly in the future.
