I saw the brake lights flash further up the street and I thought at that instant about what would happen if I saw any more of this malignant, red radiation from them again. My body had the impulse to run, so I took off through the snowy trees, hurrying back onto the street. I looked behind me through the trees to try to get a glimpse of the sinister old-fashioned truck. I couldn’t really see the position of the truck, but I kept on running as my heart was about to jump out of my chest and I couldn’t feel my legs. Seeing the end of the street was up nearby, I hustled to get to it. I noticed that I couldn’t see any other life outside at that one death-defying moment.
I arrived at the end of the street struggling for breath, but I wasn’t giving up until I had reached my house and got to safety. I pulled my toboggan down close to my eyes and adjusted my hood, looking back up the road strip to see if I could see the truck since I then had a better view. My heart nearly gave out on me when I sighted the rusted, custom-part assembled truck heading back down the road toward where I was.
I made another break for it. I didn’t want these creatures to see where I lived so I had to think of a place to go and hide. If I had tried to run straight to my house, there would have been a possibility that they would’ve seen me going into my home. I hopped onto the sidewalk and made a quick dash in between the rows of houses to find a place to hide. I noticed an old tool shed in the back of someone’s fenced-in backyard. I knew it would be my only suitable hiding spot, being that there were no trees or anything out of anybody’s yard to keep me from being seen.
I ran over to the fence and nearly leaped it in a single bound, stumbling over to the tool shed as I ran around to the other side of it to take cover. I had to get my breath back and slow my heart rate down. I couldn’t believe that these things knew who I was. It puzzled me how they had gotten on my trail like they had.
I crouched low behind the tool shed and anticipated the truck to turn into my housing subdivision. I peeked around the corner of the tool shed, hoping to keep myself from being noticed. Fearing for my life, I sat and waited patiently for the truck to show itself turning the corner off of the business strip. My breath was finally returning to my lungs, and my heartbeat was finally starting to slow down as I waited.
I began to wonder if they were going to turn into my subdivision at all. I thought the coast was clear for me temporarily as I was beginning to become relaxed. No sooner than the thought had crossed my mind, I heard the loud engine rev, and I peeked around the shed to see the truck turn the corner into my neighborhood. I quickly slid back into my hiding space to avoid being seen. My heartbeat started to rise up on me once again.
“These creatures are relentless!” I bellowed as I hid behind the shed, crouched in fear.
I heard the truck roar down the street into my subdivision. And only moments later, I heard it make a left directly onto the street where my house was located once they arrived at the turn.
“I coulda made it to my house before they woulda seen me…” I told myself, sure that they had made that turn. “Oh shit!” I uttered, realizing I had to move around to the back of the shed, being that they would’ve spotted me at my current spot.
I dove to the backend of the shed to avoid being exposed. I wasn’t about to find out what would happen to me if these animals caught me, so I remained crouched at the back of the shed and listened.
The roar of the engine was paralyzing to my body as the truck moved down my street. I
tried to keep my breathing and my heartbeat under control, as I waited impatiently to get back to safety inside my house. I heard the engine of the truck grow quieter as it moved further away from me. However, I still didn’t feel completely safe until I was inside of my home once again.
I realized I needed to know which way the truck was going before I made my move out of the spot, so I didn’t think to run just at that point.

Besides enduring the mental strain of high school and maintaining an undesired after-school job, Tommy Anderson, a resident of
After managing to have his car sideswiped at the least by a crazed driver traveling the same route as Tommy and his best-friend, Charles, on this Friday night, he and Charles would sight this same truck with three occupants on the side of the road. They were in the process of pulling some kind of strange, blanket-covered object out of the bed of their truck in destination of the nearby woods.
Although rattled by the discovery alone, Tommy would suffer horrendous visions in his sleep that would warn him what he was soon to be tied up in. As he struggles to reject the hidden knowledge of approaching danger, that is repeatedly enforced on him by means of diverting, ghostly appearances, he finds that its interfereing with his positive welfare.
He knows that his town is undergoing a demented encounter from actual-living creatures from beyond the boundaries of earth. He knows that he’s making it even harder to do anything about it with the information bottled up inside, only desiring to let his close friend Charles know what's going on.
He knows that with each passing day, he's becoming more at risk of being captured by these creatures and taken away from everything that he loves in life.

Driven by a prestigious imagination, influence from numerous horror and suspense films, and works of authors such as R.L. Stine and Steven King, he would go on to create his first novel to occupy his free time and simply just to keep himself out of trouble.
