Old brother Hubbard went to his cupboard

And quietly opened the door

Had a blank stare as he looked in there

He needed to go to the store

His brow was a ridge as he looked in the fridge

He didn’t scream nor cheer

Looked in there twice; still nothing but ice

As he longingly wished for a beer

Lets get hopping it’s time to go shopping

Went out and got in the car

It sputtered and died it was a short ride

No gas, didn’t get very far

He never did shirk cause he liked to work

He had from a real early age

It’s really not funny he never had money

Just working for minimum wage

Thought it was nifty and tried to be thrifty

But he never could save a dime

You really should try it; it works like a diet

You’re hungry most of the time

Did she tell you of compassion

Did she teach you self control

Are you worthy and ambitious

Are you really worth you’re salt

What if you turn out rotten

Is it all you’re Mother’s fault

How about you’re Father

Did he tell you what is right

Did he ever take you fishing

Did he tell you not to fight

What about you’re teacher

Did she really take the lead

Did she teach you how to write

Did she teach you how to read

Did you listen to you’re teacher

Did you study from the start

In you’re final graduation
