About the Book

The novel is set on the fierce island of Kodiak, Alaska, where the owner of the huge Moorstone mansion is murdered. After his death the town of Old Harbor takes ownership. The renters of the property are also killed. Policemen who enter the house disappear without a trace. Homicide detective Bill Koldak has to solve the baffling murders. He must also contend with a cranky, envious police chief. In addition, Bill must deal with the beautiful woman who suddenly appears in the mansion.

The novel appeals to the modern reader through its sustained action, excitement, development of characters, richness of settings, humorous situations, romantic involvement, and range of emotional content.

About the Author

In Mystery Mansion, Richard Edgar Zwez once again plunges into the convoluted, complex psyche of human nature. In Miasma, Mighty Mistress of the Night and Mysteries of Life the author had revealed the considerable extent to which this is true. Funny Follies and Melting Glaciers also disclosed incisive views of humanity with a revealing sense of humor as well as pithy observations.
