Best Friends

About the Book

     Mia and Melise had been best friends since they were born.  They were the same age, except their birthdays were in different months.  Mia is able to start Kindergarten and Melise's birthday falls at the cut off time to start school, so she must wait until next year.  Both girls have concerns.  Mia is scared to start school without Melise at her side, and Melise is afraid Mia will learn new things and meet new friends, and forget about her.

About the Author

Linda Simmons Bell retired in 1999, from a 30-year career as a hairdresser and short time salon owner in Birmingham, Mich.  She now lives in Beaverton, Mich. with her husband Neil and tabby cat Shag.

She uses her need to be creative by writing.  She also enjoys her home, traveling, friends, and volunteering and learning from the children at the Gladwin Elementary School.

Children are a gift to learn from.  They let us remember our past and see our future.
