Chapter 1:  The Goddess and The God

        The World is made of a terrific Force. This Force has two sides: a female side and a male side. We call this female and male the Goddess and the God. They are Deities; which is another word for Gods.

        We also call them Mother Goddess and Father God.

        The Goddess and the God usually look just like us so that it is easy to talk to them, but they can look however we want them to. They can look different for everyone.

      Can you draw what you want them to look like? What color is their skin? What color and shape are their eyes? What does their hair look like? Draw a face with eyes, nose and mouth and then color them in.

When you read about the Goddess and the God they might look young or old, or big or small. They are the same no matter what they look like. They are the same no matter where you live and no matter what you call them. They are a part of everything and everyone in the world. When you look at the sky, you are looking at the Father God. When you look at the land and the ocean, you are looking at the Mother Goddess. When you look at the sun, you are looking at the Father Sun God. When you look at the moon, you are looking at the Mother Moon Goddess.

Sometimes we talk about the Goddess and God as very young, and sometimes as very old. They are like people who start out as young children and grow older every year, but it only takes one year for them to grow from young to old. Then they start all over again.

        We call the different ages of the Goddess: The Maiden, The Bright and Dark Mother, and The Crone.

        We call the different ages of the God: The Green Man, The Horned God, and The Oak and Holly King.
