About the Author

Ron Ellison, MA, is president of RLE & Associates, an independent research firm. He is founder and editor of the RLE GLOBAL REPORT, a no-nonsense review of world financial and geopolitical markets. A former journalist, Mr. Ellison has been following and investing in markets since the 1970s. He has been interviewed on radio and his writings have appeared in a variety of financial publications. Currently at work on a book about the great bull market that died in 2000, he is a registered investment advisor and a founding member of Blasingham and Ellison Financial Group, a private Newport Beach, California money management firm. He has taught courses in financial planning and is a frequent speaker on investment topics.

 

Nancy A. Downey, RN, MSN, NP has been a certified nurse practitioner for more than 20 years. Her medical experience is extensive, having worked in the private and public sectors in a variety of specialties ranging from geriatrics to general medicine, from lipid research to neurosurgery and urology. She currently heads up the liver transplant, Hepatitis C liver care program at the Long Beach Veterans Medical Center where her administrative duties include supervising 18 Nurse Practitioners and 4 Physician Assistants. Ms Downey is also a long-standing member of the Institutional Review Board at the medical center.

 

She is an instructor at the University of Phoenix in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs where she is Area Chair for the Nurse Practitioner Program for the Southern California Campus. She is also an adjunct instructor at University of California, Irvine and a lecturer at California State University, Long Beach nursing programs. Ms Downey has published numerous abstracts and made numerous presentations to various professional and research conferences.

 

She resides in Long Beach, is an avid runner and an even more avid investor.
