"Hello," Rupert shouted to the gray spot in the tree, but there was no response. ''Hello there, hey you up in the tree," Rupert shouted, and this time Rupert could see a very tiny head turn towards him "What''s the problem little guy, you look so sad?"
I''m stuck up here in this darn old tree, and I can''t get down. "Well, how did you get up there in the first place?" Rupert asked. I was just walking along, minding my O"-n business, when a large yellow cat jumped out from behind a bush. I was so frightened, that I must have ran up this tree with out even knowing that I did it, and now, here I am
Could you flap your big feet and fly up here to save me? Oh, I will be ever so grateful
Are you kidding? 1 can''t fly, but I will help you get down from that big old tree. By the way, I''m Rupert, little mouse, what is your name? Oh, my name is Austintagous, but my friends call me Austin for short.
Okay, Austin, you just sit tight, and I''ll round up some friends to help get you down.
Just then, Priscilla, the butterfly, was flying by. "Hello Rupert," said Priscilla. What are you doing on this very fine day? Well, Priscilla, I''m trying to help a friend out of that old tree there. He was chased up the tree by that darn old yellow cat, and can''t get down Do you think that you and your sisters could help? "We might be able to," said Priscilla, as she turned and began calling the Sisters for their aid.

About the Book
Rupert originated from a small porcelain figurine, which sits upon Richard''s writing desk, and eventually erupts into many exciting episodes involving Rupert, a little green frog, with enormous flipper type feet, which either help him out or get him into trouble
In this story, vibrant colors and a vivid imagination come to life upon the wings of Priscilla and her butterfly sisters, who, along with other forest creatures assist Rupert in rescuing one very tiny frightened gray mouse from a big old yellow cat.
This large old yellow cat is very determined to make the tiny mouse his dinner, but never expected what was about to happen next, when Rupert and his companions pull together and use their finest abilities against him.
About the Author
Richard Wood
Richard was born in Sacramento, California. As a child, he lived in many small logging towns. Before his 18th birthday, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp, where he spent the next four years, which included sixteen months of active duty in Viet Nam.
He has been in law enforcement for over thirty years. During that time, he took classes at Solano Community College in Creative Writing and completed coursework through The Literary Institute of Children’s Writing.
Richard has had five poems published through Sparrowgrass Publishers, but finds his true love is writing children’s stories.
Richard and his wife, Beverly, have been married 38 years and have two children, Tonya and Richard, and one grandchild, Ashley Elise.
