About the Author

Andrew Johnson was born on a sheep ranch west of Red Bluff California November 3, 1927, It was his mother''s birthday! Andrew grew up there until he was fourteen years old. Tn 1942, his family moved to Yuba City where he finished high school in 1945. He entered college that fall in Marysvtlle, California, then joined the US Navy in December, 1945,

Andrew went to Bikini Atoll for the atomic bomb tests in the summer of 1946, went to China in 1947 and spent the rest of his time in the navy at San Diego, California. He was discharged from the navy in December of 1948 and went back to college. He graduated from Yuba College in the spring of 1949.

Andrew went to work for a crop duster in 1952 and became a licensed mechanic and pilot. In 1.955 he became a flight engineer for Trans World Airlines. While there, he traveled to many places in the world. He left the company and went to the Boeing Company as a flight engineer instructor. He traveled to many countries on assignment by Boeing. He retired from the company in 1981.

Andrew developed a strong love for literature early in life and has been widely read, having a special interest in science fiction, historical fiction and world and US history. He has a small library which contains a broad variety of fiction and technical works. As a flight engineer instructor, he learned to write technical manuals and other technical documents. He has written for a technical magazine about aviation subjects. He has recently written a small number of fiction works, mostly set in the Western United States, none of which have yet been published. Top of the Mountain is his first attempt at entering the published author''s world.
